ArangoDB Weekly #25 | Multi-Model Benchmarks, ArangoDB on Azure

This week we’ve released the third alpha for ArangoDB 2.6. Using this alpha3 release we’ve done our first benchmark article. Claudius wrote a blog post: Native multi-model can compete with pure document and graph databases – which shows that ArangoDB is really not that bad. We would love to hear your feedback.

Last week we’ve released ArangoDB 2.6 alpha! We would be happy if you could test the new version and give us some feedback. Arango Weekly #23 | new Release 2.5.4, Technical preview 2.6

In the last days we prepared everything for the first technical preview of ArangoDB 2.6, testing new and improved functionality and adding some small last minute features like the AQL explain command in the Web UI. We are proud of the new release and can’t wait to give it in your hands. Stay tuned, follow @arangodb to get the news first

Meanwhile last week we published a 2.5.4 maintenance release and provide a short glimpse on added features like Foxx dependencies for more composable Foxx Apps and Improved System User Authentication.

LoopBack Connector for ArangoDB

ArangoDB can be used as a backend data source for APIs that you compose with the popular open-source LoopBack Node.js framework.

In a recent blog article on StrongLoop, Nicholas Duffy explains how to use his new loopback-connector-arango connector to access ArangoDB:

ArangoDB’s outpost in the Bay area is getting more and more crowded. CTO Frank @fceller has joined the team of our CEO Claudius @weinberger, and ArangoDB´s lead developers: Max @neunhoef & Michael @mchacki. The latter are in San Francisco for a while already.

You can meet our team by attending several Meetups, the Collision Conf in Vegas (5-7 May) or at the @GeekdomSF office at Folsom Street #100, near Moscone Center. Get in touch, grab’ a coffee and join the discussions about NoSQL and multi-model databases. We are here to stay – at least until the end of May.
