Meet Patrick, ArangoDB User and Community Contributor

In April 2015, Thomas Pfeiffer, a user experience researcher and active open-source contributor, did an interview with one very active member of the ArangoDB community – J Patrick Davenport from Palatka, FL, USA. The aim was to get an idea about the open-source project ArangoDB as a whole and the development process so far – from the perspective of a developer. New Release ArangoDB 2.6

We are proud to announce the latest release of ArangoDB with lot’s of improvements and many new features. ArangoDB 2.6 is available for download for many different operating systems. In the new release the focus is on performance improvements. For instance sorting on a string attribute is up to 3 times faster. There are also improvements in the shortest-path implementation and other graph related AQL queries.

ArangoDB Weekly #26 | OrientDB Benchmark

Last week we’ve published a benchmark post: Native multi-model can compete with pure document and graph databases. An article that attracted some great attention on HN / social media. ArangoDB Weekly #25 | Multi-Model Benchmarks, ArangoDB on Azure

Arango Weekly #23 | new Release 2.5.4, Technical preview 2.6

In the last days we prepared everything for the first technical preview of ArangoDB 2.6, testing new and improved functionality and adding some small last minute features like the AQL explain command in the Web UI. Version 2.4.5 with slow query tracking

ArangoDB 2.4.5 is ready to download. The latest release of the 2.4 branch comes with some minor bugfixes and a new feature:

Tracking of AQL queries

We have added current and slow query tracking and also killing of long running AQL queries.

This change enables retrieving the list of currently running AQL queries inside the selected database. AQL queries with an execution time beyond a certain threshold can be moved to a slow query facility and retrieved from there:
